Moose Says COVID Ruined Original Plans For TNA World Title, Doesn’t Know Long-Term Story
At IMPACT Rebellion 2020, Moose appeared with the TNA World Heavyweight Title and declared himself as the new champion.
IMPACT had been without a World Champion during the pandemic as Tessa Blanchard, who held the IMPACT World Title, had not attended the pandemic tapings in Nashville. IMPACT eventually stripped Blanchard of the IMPACT World Title and crowned a new champion at Slammiversary.
Despite Moose holding the TNA World Heavyweight Title for almost a year, a unification match has not been held.
“I remember when they told me they were going to bring it back and it was an opportunity for me to take it and run with it, which is what I did. COVID ruined the original way they were supposed to bring it back, but we’ve done a good job working through COVID. I can’t tell you what we’re going to do because it would ruin the story. Honestly, I don’t know what’s going to happen. That’s what the writers are there for and we’ll find out with the story. I find out as it happens. Believe it or not, they don’t give us a long-term story of what’s going to happen because of the fear that it’ll get leaked. We find out when we get there,” Moose told The Angle Podcast.
Moose is currently feuding with IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann, though a match between the two men has not been made official.
On Tuesday’s IMPACT, Moose defeated Tommy Dreamer in an Old School Rules match. If you missed anything from IMPACT, check out Fightful’s full report on the show by clicking here.
