Moose Is Open To A Match With Kenny Omega As Long As The Story Intrigues Him
As it stands right now, Moose is fond of Kenny Omega.
Since winning the AEW World Championship Kenny Omega has been the bridge between IMPACT Wrestling and AEW. Appearing on multiple episodes of IMPACT on AXS and even agreeing to wrestle at their January pay-per-view, Hard To Kill, Kenny believes that he and Don Callis are re-writing the wrestling rulebook and opening the doors to a world of new possibilities.
Moose, the man who has been holding the TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt all year, also has his sights set on belt collecting like Omega. Moose has wrestled in Ring of Honor, the American home of The Elite prior to All Elite Wrestling, and briefly started a program with Cody Rhodes during Cody’s brief stint in IMPACT.
Speaking with Inside The Ropes, Moose opened up about how he feels about a potential match with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, saying that he would be open to it but there would need to be a proper story in order for them to fight.
“I mean, why not? I mean, I have no… The thing with matches is, like, I don’t just like having matches just to have a match – because it’s a possible dream match,” said Moose. “You have to give me a reason for why I’m wrestling Kenny Omega. I like Kenny. I respect him. He’s done a lot, obviously, and in the world of professional wrestling. But I don’t have any real problems with Kenny.”
He continued, “Like, I wouldn’t want to hurt them, if that’s what you’re asking. I mean, I wouldn’t want to hurt Kenny. I don’t have any issues with him. Now, Rich Swann I have a lot of issues with and that’s somebody who I want to hurt. So that’s where my mind is at this present moment. What could happen with me and Kenny in the future, we’ll see. But as of right now, I like Kenny, he’s doing a great job and he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world.”
Moose has been angling for a match with Rich Swann for a long time but it is Kenny who will face Rich Swann at IMPACT Hard To Kill on Saturday, January 16, when they are on opposite ends of a tag team match. Learn more at this link.
