Montez Ford Talks Jeff Jarrett And SummerSlam, Bobby Lashley Reflects On Pandemic Era | Fight Size
Here is your fight size update for Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
– Montez Ford recently spoke with Sports Illustrated and previewed SummerSlam and talked about Jeff Jarrett’s involvement as the special guest referee for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match.
“This is a chance to do something we’ve never done before: defeating The Usos and becoming undisputed tag team champions,” Ford says. “That last time we wrestled at Money in the Bank was special. You could feel the intensity; you could feel the chemistry. Now we’re looking to be even better. This is the biggest match of our career, and it’s taking place on a historic stage at SummerSlam.”
“Jarrett ups the ante for us,” Ford says. “This is a long time coming for myself and Dawkins. The Usos have been so dominant over the past year, and we need that signature win against them.”
– Bobby Lashley recently spoke to The Tennessean about how he, Sheamus, and Drew McIntyre, stepped up during the ThunderDome era.
“I — alongside guys like Sheamus and Drew — stepped up and showed that we were the type of performers who could be counted on to consistently show up and give total effort. We’ve all evolved our talents and are now helping the WWE superstars younger than us to achieve another level in the company and become the top stars of tomorrow.”

– Major League Wrestling is beginning to put in motion this year’s Super Series
A called was held this afternoon between MLW officials and promoters making up MLW’s international strategic alliance. The topic: finalizing plans for the Super Series ’22.
Due to the pandemic, plans for the ’21 co-promoted supercard were suspended. However, with events returning with regularity, MLW and international promoters have been framing out the next Super Series for six weeks.
Details including which promotion will host the interpromotional supercard are said to be set.
One interesting development: multiple promotions are rumored to be participating in the ’22 edition of the Super Series.
“One of the big questions I get asked a lot is what if MLW did something with this organization or that promotion,” said Court Bauer. “We are looking at this in a lot of ways as we build long-term relationships. It’s a very exciting and unpredictable moment in the sport and that’s a good thing, so buckle up and be ready.”
