MLW Fusion Episode #98 Results Tom Lawlor vs Ross Von Erich, Erick Stevens Debuts

The leader of Team Filthy clashes with one half of the MLW World Tag Team champions!

-We open the show with a recap of the MLW World Heavyweight Championship match between the champion Jacob Fatu and the challenger Ross Von Erich in which Tom Lawlor cost Ross the title as well as the subsequent feud between Team Filthy and the Von Erichs.

-We then get a rundown of tonight’s show which includes King Mo, the debut of Erick Stevens, and Tom Lawlor and Ross Von Erich in our main event.

Moonshine Mantell vs Logan Creed

They lock up before Moonshine chops Logan, but he’s un-phased before Moonshine counters a choke slam and Logan drops him with a shoulder block. Logan beats Moonshine down and plays to the crowd before whipping Moonshine into the corner and dropping him with an open hand palm strike. Logan tosses Moonshine across the ring before Moonshine counters a full nelson and Logan hits a choke breaker. Logan then sends Moonshine out of the ring and hits a suicide dive before Logan hits a powerbomb once they’re back in the ring for the pin and the win.

Winner: Logan Creed defeats Moonshine Mantell via pinfall with a powerbomb.

-After the match we get a Dynasty segment with Alex and Gino about more Ramune Japanese soda as well as Grogan being a problem for them now that he’s no longer with Dynasty we go to commercial.

-We come back to a vignette for Erick Stevens ahead of his debut tonight against Douglas James before we get a preview for Intimidation Games and a countdown of the top ten contenders in MLW with Davey Boy Smith Jr ranked number one before we get a quick interview with Stevens right before he comes out for his debut.

Erick Stevens vs Douglas James

James and Erick lock up for a not so clean break before Douglas takes Erick down and he gets back to his feet before Doug takes him right back down. Erick traps Doug in the ropes and chops him before Doug comes back with an arm drag and Erick counters a huricanrrana. They counter each other before Erick smiles when Doug chops him before catching him when he goes for a suicide dive and slams him onto the apron. Back in the ring Erick stomps Doug down and drops him with a stiff forearm before dropping him again with a back elbow for two. They slap each other across the face before Doug hits a huricanrrana and kicks the legs of Erick.

Erick hits a choke slam for two before teasing a surf board and Erick smashes the knees of Doug into the mat as we go to commercial.

We come back to Doug rocking Erick with a bicycle knee and a superkick before hitting a meteora for a near fall before Erick hits a gut buster. Doug hits a running clothesline in the corner into a lariat before finishing with a Sarasota Screwdriver for the pin and the win.

Winner: Erick Stevens defeats Douglas James via pinfall with the Sarasota Screwdriver.

-After the match we go to a confrontation between Mance Warner and Dynasty before we see that they laid out Mance’s friend before we get a promo by Contra with an open challenge to anyone in AAA.

-We then get a video package for Killer Kross before we get an interview with Tom Lawlor ahead of his match against Ross Von Erich before we get a recap of Injustice attacking and costing Brian Pillman Jr his title shot and a subsequent promo by Injustice.

-We get a promo by Jimmy Havoc and Priscilla Kelly before we go to a recap of a confrontation between King Mo and Low-Ki several weeks ago.

King Mo vs Local Talent

Dax chops Mo and misses a running splash in the corner before countering a suplex by Mo. Mo then drops and submits Dax with a sleeper hold.

Winner: King Mo defeats a local performer via submission with a sleeper hold.

-We get a graphic for the first lumberjack match in MLW history when Los Parks take on Simon Gotch and Josef Samael of Contra as well as Injustice versus Laredo Kid and Zenshi on next week’s show.

Tom Lawlor vs Ross Von Erich

Ross rushes Tom as soon as the match starts before sending him out of the ring and into the post. Ross hits a back suplex onto the apron before rolling Tom into the ring, but Tom stomps him as soon as he gets back in and hits a scoop slam. Tom misses an elbow drop before Ross hits a slingshot senton for two and beats on Tom in the ropes. Tom feints an injury before the member of Team Filthy at ringside trips Ross and Tom capitalizes. Tom whips Ross into the corner before Ross counters a suplex and Tom hits him with knees to the midsection before hitting the suplex.

Tom chokes Ross in the corner before dropping Ross with a chest and playing to the crowd. Ross comes back with forearms and a dropkick into running boot in the corner and a running delayed dropkick. Ross hits a brainbuster for a near fall before hitting a falcon arrow for another near fall and Ross knocks the Team Filthy member off of the apron when he tries to interfere. Dominic Garrini then interferes and costs Tom the match for the disqualification.

Winner: Ross Von Erich defeats Tom Lawlor via disqualification.

-After the match Marshall comes out and attacks Tom before they’re overwhelmed by Tom, Dom and new member Erick Stevens. Team Filthy then take out the Von Erichs after mocking and defaming the Texas flag as we go off the air.
