MLW Fusion Episode 84 Results Tom Lawlor vs Davey Boy Smith Jr., Contra Unit in Action
The leader of Team Filthy takes on the muscle of the Hart Foundation and Contra’s Ikuro Kwon is in action on this week’s episode of MLW Fusion!
-Tom Lawlor meets with the Von Erichs backstage as Tom gets ready for his match tonight against Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Marshall’s match against Ikuro Kwon in our opening contest.
Ikuro Kwon w/Josef Samael vs Marshall Von Erich w/Ross Von Erich
Kwon attacks Marshall when he dives to the outside before the match starts, then Marshall tosses Kwon over his head once they’re in the ring before Josef trips Marshall from ringside. Kwon drops Marshall and hits him with right hands before rocking him with a series of palm strikes and a roundhouse kick for a two count before dropping him with a superkick. Marshall comes back with a lariat and a running clothesline in the corner before hitting a running forearm in the corner into a high angle spine buster. Marshall then locks in the claw before Josef attacks Marshall for the disqualification.
Winner:Marshall Von Erich defeats Ikuro Kwon via disqualification when Josef Samael interferes.
-We go to Richard Holliday talking to MJF via FaceTime before Alexander Hammerstone shows up and says that MLW management are giving them a huge gift before leaving as we go to commercial.
-We come back to The Dynasty minus MJF making their way to the ring for their match against Dominic Garrini and Douglas James.
Dynasty (Richard Holliday & Alexander Hammerstone) vs Dominic Garrini & Douglas James
Richard and Dominic start the match off by shaking hands before Dom takes Richard down with a judo throw and locks in an armbar before Richard gets to the ropes for the break. Alex comes in and has a test of strength with Dom before he’s taken down and Dom goes for a guillotine before Alex powers his way to his feet. Doug comes in and kicks Alex before knocking Richard from the apron and Alex drops him across the top rope before Richard stomps him. Richard drops Doug with a back elbow and hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a two count before Alex drops him with a stiff forearm to the spine. Alex slings Doug off of him when he goes for a choke before launching him into the air and Doug dropkicks Alex when he goes for a lariat. Richard and Dom get the tag and Dom hits Richard with a German suplex into an armbar that Alex breaks up before Richard hits a twisting neckbreaker for a near fall. Doug comes in and hits a diving meteora for a near fall before superkicking Richard off of the apron and sending Alex out of the ring where they exchange strikes. Dom and Richard exchange strikes on one side of the floor as Alex and Doug do on the opposite side before Doug hits a tornado DDT off of the apron. Doug then gets back into the ring at the count of nineteen before Alex is counted out for the win.
Winner: Douglas James and Dominic Garrini defeat Dynasty via count out when Alex doesn’t get back into the ring in time.
-We get an update on Teddy Hart after being fire bombed last week before Myron Reed talks about winning the MLW World Middleweight Championship from Teddy.
-We go backstage to the Von Erichs with Tom Lawlor where they are told via a message on their phone about a match next week against Jacob Fatu where the brothers try to decide who will challenge and Marshall signs the contract as we go to commercial.
-We get a promo by Jimmy Havoc ahead of his Falls Count Anywhere match against Mance Warner before we get a promo recapping the signing of King Mo.
Tom Lawlor vs Davey Boy Smith Jr.
They shake hands before the match before Davey backs Tom into the corner for a clean break and they grapple on the mat until Davey rolls out onto the apron. Davey gets back into the ring and takes Tom down before going for a double wrist lock and Tom gets to the ropes for the break. Davey takes Tom back down before they get to their feet and shove each other before Tom hits Davey with a stiff forearm and Davey takes Tom down with a single leg as King Mo looks on from ringside in the crowd. Davey dumps Tom out of the ring and hits him with forearms at ringside before Tom comes back with open hand palm strikes and forearms before Davey rolls back into the ring. Tom starts to focus on the arm of Davey once they’re back in the ring and they exchange choke attempts before Tom gets to the ropes for the break.
Davey drops Tom with uppercuts and hits a series of snap suplexes for a two count before locking in a side headlock and Tom counters into a belly to back suplex for a two count. Tom kicks Davey who just gets angered by it and hits Tom with a Saito suplex for a two count before Tom jumps on his back and locks in a choke before Davey is quick to the ropes for the break. They exchange strikes until Davey drops Tom and hits a leg drop for a near fall before Tom hits a t-bone suplex. Tom hits a side Russian leg sweep before Davey locks in a sharpshooter and transitions into a cross face before Tom gets to the ropes for the break. They then swing wildly until Tom pokes Davey in the eye and hits a spinning heel kick into a reverse DDT for the pin and the win.

-After the match Tom gets on the mic and says that his contract is about to expire before saying that he’s the hottest thing in professional wrestling before we end the show with a run down of next week’s matches as we go off the air.
