MJF: All These Ex-WWE Guys Can Go To Hell, They Can’t Sniff My Jock In The Ratings
MJF isn’t happy with all the ex-WWE talent making “absurd money” in AEW.
AEW has always consistently scoured the free agent market and has signed the likes of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Keith Lee, Swerve Strickland, and more over the past year. For an AEW original like MJF, he is none too pleased.
“I think there is a lot of stuff going on in this company that is inaccurate. I think all these fucking ex-WWE guys that are making an absurd amount of money when, quite frankly, they cant sniff my fucking jock when it comes to the ratings I pull in whenever I’m on screen, I think they can all go to hell. Somebody in the upper management has a problem with me and it’s very obvious if you see what I’m dealing with week to week,” MJF told Brandon Walker on Rasslin.
When it was pointed out to MJF that Shawn Spears is an ex-WWE guy, MJF replied, “Shawn Spears is an ex-WWE guy. Now, if/when I were to go over there, I’d have me a ball because I built my brand and established myself here. When I go over there, I’m not gonna have to deal with the same type of bullshit that poor Shawn Spears had to deal with. A guy like that has been criminally underrated for over a decade.”
MJF referenced Spears’ WWE past on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, getting the crowd to chant “10” for the number of lashes Wardlow is set to receive as part of their AEW Double or Nothing contract.
MJF has made no secret that his AEW contract expired in 2024 and he will weigh his options at that time.
