Miro, Formerly Rusev: ‘I Have Never Been Involved In A Stupid Wedding Segment’

Miro, formerly Rusev of WWE, wants you to know that he’s never been in a “stupid wedding segment.”

Recently, Miro debuted on AEW Dynamite as Kip Sabian’s best man for his upcoming wedding to Penelope Ford. This will not be Rusev’s first time attending a television wedding.

Rusev was married twice on the Total Divas reality show, once in Bulgaria and once in Malibu. In character for WWE, he was a part of his own wedding celebration in August of 2016 which was crashed by Roman Reigns. But perhaps the wedding he is most known for is the wedding of Bobby Lashley and Lana.

Taking place on December 30, 2019, Rusev crashed the wedding of Bobby Lashley and his real life wife, Lana, by popping out of their cake and attacking both of the newlyweds with the help of Liv Morgan.

When asked on Twitch if he was tired of being involved in “stupid” wedding segments, Miro offer a rebuttal and say that he’s never been involved in a stupid wedding segment because all of the segments he’s been involved in have “broken records.”

“First of all, I have never been in a stupid wedding segment. If you want to go back and research all the wedding segments that I did, they all have broken all kinds of records, thank you very much and no, weddings are fun. Who gets tired of going to a wedding? I don’t know. I’m not tired of having fun. Are you?”

The segment with his own wedding to Lana from 2016 currently sits at 19 million viewers on WWE’s YouTube channel. Meanwhile, the clip of Liv Morgan returning to crash the wedding of Lana and Lashley alongside Rusev currently sits at 5 million views after only 8 months.

Rusev was released by WWE on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 and that’s all in the past now. Miro, “The Best Man,” moves forward in AEW. Chris Jericho feels like this is a great moniker for Miro as he explained on his latest Saturday Night Special Q&A video. Learn more here.
