Mickie James Says She’s Got A ‘Bird’s-Eye View’ Of Her Next Championship Opponent At Slammiversary
Mickie James sees her enforcer role at Slammiversary as another step in her reset since losing the Knockouts Championship.
Mickie James will be the special enforcer in the first Queen of the Mountain Match at IMPACT Slammiversary 2022. A match between Tasha Steelz, Chelsea Green, Deonna Purrazzo, Jordynne Grace, and Mia Yim will make history during the 20th anniversary of IMPACT as a promotion.
Mickie James, someone who has history with TNA Wrestling dating back to the Asylum days, is looking forward to the opportunity to have a bird’s-eye view of this historic match and tells Pop Culture that she is looking forward to making sure there are no shenanigans at Slammiversary and says she still considers herself to be in line for a championship match, looking at the match as a way to see who she will challenge for the title next.
“I’ve been a little naked, without the championship now,” James said. “For a couple of months, been in this reset mode of like, ‘What’s next for Mickie James, what am I going to do?’ and I was like, ‘there’s no way Slammiversary is coming to my backyard and I’m not going to be a part of it.’ You are looking at the special enforcer for the Queen of the Mountain.”
James continued, “I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I would’ve been there regardless, but I’m like, ‘I got this.’ Plus I got to get a firsthand look, I got to get a bird’s-eye view, if you will, of who I’m going to take this championship from next.”
