Mick Foley Says Wrestling Kevin James In High School Gave Him Confidence To Pursue Pro Wrestling
Mick Foley, the King of the Deathmatch, gives credit to the King of Queens, Kevin James.
Mick Foley, to most, is known for his death-defying acts during his time as a pro wrestler. However, before he ever stepped foot into a squared circle, he was an amateur wrestler in high school. During his time as an amateur wrestler, he crossed paths with famed sitcom actor Kevin James of the King of Queens.
On Instagram, Foley shared a version of the Kevin James meme that has been sweeping social media during Fall 2023, with the picture he shared depicting Kevin with a photoshopped “Big Eagle” variant of the WWE Championship on his shoulder. The caption of the post sees Foley credit his time wrestling the actor in high school as giving him the confidence to pursue his actual dream of being a pro wrestler.
THE KING OF QUEENS!
Although the winged eagle belt looks like it was photoshopped onto my high school pal kevinjamesofficial, it’s still a great image. Had I never ventured down to my high school wrestling room and competed with Kevin day in and day out, there’s no way I would have had the confidence to take a shot at my dream of wrestling professionally.
…have a nice day!
There you have it. Wrestling fans can indirectly thank Kevin James for the memories of Hell in a Cell at WWE King of the Ring 1998.
WWE Superstar Bronson Reed also shared a variant of this popular meme on social media recently. Learn more about that here.
