Mick Foley Recalls His Dramatic Weight Loss, Worried About Being Too Skinny To Be Santa Claus

He probably wasn't the girthiest Santa, but it was probably needed.

He spoke to Sporting News recently about the dramatic weight loss that went down in the last year. He's dropped as much as 100 pounds in the last couple of year. With the weight loss came a new look, one that made him question if he was now too skinny to be Santa Claus.

I honestly think that when I got down to 236 that I didn't look like myself. I don't think people want to see a … It's like in 'Rudolph' where Mrs. Claus says, 'People don't want to see a skinny Santa; eat, Santa, eat.' So, I look at some photos when I was the 'Raw' GM and I was like, 'That's a little too gaunt.' People want to see me with a little girth. My son told me I was too skinny to be Santa Claus and then I was so relieved on Christmas Eve when I literally shattered an armchair. It just shattered with frightening force and, on my way tumbling to the ground, all I could think was I knew I wasn't too skinny to be Santa Claus.

Foley hasn't been on television since early this year, when he was written off TV to get hip surgery. He was working there without a contract. He's since released a book called Saint Mick: My Journey From Hardcore Legend To Santa's Jolly Elf.
