Michael Cole: I Don’t Know If People Will Chant ‘One More Match’ For Me, But I’ll Take The Payday
Michael Cole and Pat McAfee have some fun with the idea of Cole having one more match.
Both Michael Cole and Pat McAfee are undefeated at WrestleMania, with Michael Cole defeating Jerry Lawler by disqualification in 2011 at WrestleMania 27. McAfee defeated Austin Theory at WrestleMania 38 and The Miz in a special match at WrestleMania 39.
During a special episode of The Pat McAfee Show Live From WrestleMania XL, Cole and McAfee joked about being part of a tag team match at WrestleMania against the Friday Night Smackdown announced team of Wade Barrett and Corey Graves.
“We’d be a tag team,” said Michael Cole.
McAfee added, “We could be a tag team. Maybe we’ll just beat the dog shit out of Corey Graves and Wade Barrett. I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for you, Wade Barrett.”
When McAfee asked if there was anything that could potentially make the crowd chant for one more match from Michael Cole, Cole said he wasn’t sure about that but also joked that he would take the money.
“I don’t know if they’ll be chanting that to me, but I’ll take the payday,” Cole joked.
McAfee did technically lose a match ever WrestleMania 38 to Vince McMahon but WWE is no longer recognizing that.
Michael Cole who has been in WWE for 27 years had previously promised McAfee that he would not retire until they could have a run as a commentary team. They are now calling the action every Monday night on WWE Raw.
