Mercedes Martinez Released By WWE
Mercedes Martinez has been released by WWE.
Fightful reports that Martinez was released by WWE on August 6.
After competing in the first two Mae Young Classics, Martinez signed with WWE in January 2020. During her time with the company, she competed in the 2020 Royal Rumble, was part of the Robert Stone Brand, and feuded with Io Shirai and Xia Li, among others.
Martinez was also an original member of RETRIBUTION but returned to NXT rather than remaining on Raw.
Her final singles match came at NXT TakeOver: In Your House where she faced Xia Li. This story was built on the foundation of Martinez’s victory over Li in the first Mae Young Classic.
