Melissa “Super Genie” Coates Passes Away
Super Genie has passed away.
Fightful is sad to report the passing of Melissa Coates, better known as Super Genie. She passed away at age 50 just five days after her 50th birthday.
Known more recently in wrestling as Super Genie, the valet of Sabu, Melissa Coates was involved in pro wrestling for over a decade, including a brief time in WWE developmental.
On November 12, 2020, a GoFundMe page was created on her behalf. Prior to that, doctors had found several blood clots, leading to excruciating pain in her leg which would, unfortunately, have to be amputated.
The passing was announced by the Cauliflower Alley Club and many in professional wrestling reached out to send their condolences.
Everyone here at the CAC is deeply saddened to hear the news that Super Genie Melissa Coates has passed away. We send out our sincerest condolences to her family, friends and fans. May they find comfort in the memories left behind during this most difficult time. R.I.P. Melissa. pic.twitter.com/mD77rvsFyO
