Melina Reflects On Her Royal Rumble Appearance, Edge Details Royal Rumble Gear, More | Fight Size

Here’s your fight size update for Thursday, February 3, 2022:

– Melina reflected on her Royal Rumble appearance on Instagram:

44k in attendance at this year’s Royal Rumble and I never imagined such a response. Thank you to all the ladies in the back and to all the fans. What a moment to be alive and feel alive. It’s all thanks to each and every one of you.

In wrestling there may be moments where a storyline is taken away, you’re taken out of a segment, times are cut, your match gets scrapped and/or you get treated like you you don’t matter enough to be used… but at that Rumble, the crowd reaction, the love I felt and all the kind words that were said, THAT was pure & real.

Erase me from history or take away my time in the ring, but THAT moment at the Rumble will be something that no one could ever take away and it will stay in my heart for all eternity.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Seeing the reaction videos, the posts and the comments filled my heart with overwhelming love, joy and gratitude. I can’t say it enough, THANK YOU.

@sashabankswwe, I couldn’t imagine a more perfect opponent to start the Rumble and make my WWE in ring return with. Thank you for that magic moment. Ughhhh! What could have been!!!!!

– Edge details the idea behind his and Beth Phoenix’s Royal Rumble gear

Beth and I had a vision for Royal Rumble. Post apocalyptic Viking. With a little Mad Max and Luna Vachon thrown in. Polar opposites to Miz & Maryse. As always thanks to the folks who make those ideas come to life. @wornstar came through and crushed our trench coats, and @maineventgear for our badass gear.

Denise Salcedo interviewed Tasha Steelz recently and Tasha spoke about her split from Kiera Hogan, who left for AEW

“My thing immediately was I need to show these people that I am going straight to the top. I am not just gonna settle being a singles competitor and get singles matches every now and then. No. I am gonna show all this flava and go straight to the top. That was my initial thing coming into IMPACT. Being able to tag with Kiera was a bonus for me but now that I am going back as a singles competitor, it’s great, it shows that I get to showcase myself instead of sharing the spotlight a little bit with someone which I didn’t mind because Kiera and I helped each other out throughout that time, but now it’s about me and it’s about me showing who I am and why I am here. “

– Jade Cargill talks about being a role model for her daughter in recent Bleacher Report interview

“For my daughter to see me [win the title], it’s amazing because she’s been with me along this whole journey,” Cargill said. “When I started training, she was in the gym with me. It was really astonishing for me to see how she used to watch me in the ring with huge men.

“At first, she would cry about it. And I’d have to go off to the side and talk to her and tell her ‘You know, mommy’s beaten some butt.’ And now it’s funny how it’s turned. She’s the one who’s yelling and telling me to get on somebody. So, it feels good for her to see me in that light because I want her to know everything I’m doing is for her foundation.”

“She can do anything and everything in this life and I want her to see that,” Cargill said. “And she has a father who’s prominent in sports as well, so she knows what it feels like to be a winner. And she knows the hard work it will take to be a winner. And again, I’ve just started. I’m not even a year in, I just started in March [of 2021].

Killer Kross spoke with Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports about how John Morrison made it hard to keep a straight face in the ring:

“Just because of our relationship: John Morrison. We’re very close and when you work with somebody so many times, you just get more comfortable with them. You learn each other’s rhythm and timing in the ring,” Kross said. “John and I have worked all around the world together. Typically if we’re working, especially if it’s not TV, we are not limited to things that we’re able to do in the ring. We can create whatever story we want for the fans. Depending on what city we’re in, we’ll feel the crowd and we’ll look at what’s going on, we’ll see who’s on the card and think, ‘What’s the best we can get out of this time on the card.’ We’ll have fun and I think that when people can feel that you’re having fun in the ring, they will also have fun in return. It’s quite infectious.

“He and I worked quite a bit on house shows and I will tell you, it’s a shame, but the best reactions I had ever gotten were on the main roster house shows and they’re not televised. My times weren’t cut, I wasn’t limited to what I can do in the ring. People weren’t telling me that I couldn’t do certain moves. I was able to just work with the rhythm of the audience and not have to worry about times being cut and changing directions. I really wish people could have seen that, but at least the live crowds did. Yeah, John I would say is the hardest person to keep a straight face with.”
