Melina Discusses Steve Austin’s Tough Enough Reaction That Went Viral

Remember when Steve Austin asked Cameron on Tough Enough what her favorite match was? Cameron named Melina vs. Alicia Fox, drawing a “who?” response from Austin. The reaction was turned into a GIF that’s still parade on social media today.

Speaking Ring The Belle, Melina gave her thoughts on Austin’s reaction and the reactionthat is forever attached to her name.

“I got issues with this. I don’t understand how this is funny at all. She had her favorite pick and I’m sorry people don’t agree with it,” said Melina. “I look at the internet and think how can you say I’m a legend, I’m iconic, I should be in the Hall of Fame and then go around and say how — this is basically saying, in his mind, he probably thinks I’m crap. To each their own, it doesn’t matter to me. I just got paid to do a job. I still made money and made my impact on wrestling. Anyone’s opinion doesn’t even matter to me. I’m still living a good life.”

Austin did clarify on social media that he did not mean to disrespect to Melina or Alicia Fox with his reaction.

However, Melina still finds the whole thing annoying.

“He asked her what her favorite match was. Not what his favorite match was,” she said. And he’s going to ridicule her for what her favorite match was? I don’t care what your favorite match is. If something touched your heart and made you love what I love, when I struggled and fought so hard to learn and be able to achieve. If somebody loved what I loved, more power to her. If something made her love it then that’s all that matters. This ‘joke’ that keeps dragging on…when it first happened, yeah, I got offended. Now it’s kinda just annoying.”

With WWE Evolution coming up, Melina’s name has been in the rumor mill for an appearance. Naomi stated that she would like to face Melina at the event. Melina welcomed the challenge, but nothing has been made official.
