Megabyte Ronnie Reflects On Eating Lemon Glazed Cake On Being The Elite

On episode 221 of Being The Elite, the episode ends with Megabyte Ronnie eating a lemon glazed cake as Brandon Cutler takes a phone call.

Ronnie is not only a wrestler, but also a professional eater who has competed in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest and ranked competitively in Major League Eating.

Speaking to Jeremy Lambert and Stephen Jensen of The Spotlight, Ronnie recalled how he ended up on Being The Elite.

“My 20th ever match was on AEW. I was brand new and pretty stoked to be in a situation like that. I got onto AEW because I ate chicken wings with Cody Rhodes on Hot Ones. I kind of got there a different way, I got there through eating. For Being The Elite, I’m backstage, I’m hanging out. The Bucks walk up to me and they’re like, ‘I don’t know if you’ve seen this or not, but we have this YouTube series.’ I’m like, ‘Guys, shut the fuck up. I know what Being The Elite is.’ [laughs]. I’m a wrestler, not just some eater guy hanging around. They’re like, ‘We’d really like you to do this scene, we’ll come up with something.’ They start asking me for ideas like what type of food I wanted. I wanted something soft. Not something like pudding that is going to spray everywhere while I’m eating it. We came up with the idea for cake. I wanted something juicy so I didn’t choke on it. I didn’t want to be drinking a lot of water in the scene. We got a glazed cake, which was a huge mistake because those are dryer than I anticipated [laughs]. We go to film the scene, they’re telling me what they want me to do, ‘we want you to walk down the hallway, come around the corner, kick Brandon (Cutler).’ They didn’t give me any instructions, I just hit the scene where I’m walking down the hallway and I did it in one take and they’re like, ‘holy shit.’ We go into this room, I’m eating two lemon glazed cakes while Brandon is on the phone, he’s saying stuff about his scrotum, I’m almost choking because I’m laughing. While I’m doing this, there are like ten other wrestlers in the room, Miro is literally five feet away from me. I’m just living the dream. That scene was amazing, one of the best things I’ll ever do in my life,” he said.

Not only did Ronnie appear on Being The Elite, but he battled Brian Cage in a match filmed for AEW Dark.

Elsewhere during the interview, Ronnie explained how eating wings with Cody Rhodes on Hot Ones led to his AEW appearance. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
