“Mean” Gene Okerlund Remembered By Hulk Hogan On WWE Raw
It had been nearly four years since Hulk Hogan was on WWE Raw. But tonight wasn’t about him. It was about legendary interviewer “Mean” Gene Okerlund.
WWE held a moment of silence and 10-bell salute for Okerlund, who passed away on Jan. 2. Hogan came out to introduce a video package highlighting the career of Okerlund. Following the video package, the crowd gave a “Thank You, Mean Gene” chant. Hogan the cut a passionate promo about other wrestling legends who have passed away including Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Mr. Perfect, Ultimate Warrior, Andre The Giant, Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan.
