Max Caster: John Cena Reaches Out To Me Sometimes, He Says I Do It Better Than He Did

Max Caster describes how Cena has offered him words of encouragement.

Max Caster says John Cena was his inspiration when he was younger, and he describes how Cena has offered him words of encouragement.

Caster is often compared to Cena, particularly Cena with the way Max raps to the ring, as it reminds some fans of Cena’s Doctor of Thuganomics persona. The former WWE Champion has also praised Caster; he once said Max has great potential. In recent months, Caster’s popularity has remarkably increased; alongside Anthony Bowens, Caster has become one of AEW’s most renowned homegrown stars, and the duo captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.

Speaking with AJ Awesome on The AJ Awesome Show, Caster was asked to name his inspirations as a wrestler, and he brought up Cena. He noted that the WWE star was his hero during his teenage years. Caster also described how Cena sometimes reaches out to him and encourages him. In doing so, he noted that Cena helps boost him up.

“John Cena is a huge inspiration. I’ve never met him, but he reaches out to me from time to time. He’s been very, very nice, and for my hero as a teenager to reach out to me and, in the midst of people saying, ‘Oh, you’re a Cena rip-off, you’re just doing something that’s old, we don’t want to see this in wrestling now,’ for him to reach out and say, ‘You’re doing it the right way,’ sometimes he says I do it better than he did, it’s his opinion. I don’t know if I wanna agree with that, but I believe in myself, 100%, and his confidence in me only boosts me up. I don’t know if he knows how much that means, but it means a lot. So he’s my inspiration back then and now still,” Caster said.

Jeff Jarrett told Caster he has several receipts coming after Max messed with his family and his money. Check out his comments here.

Anthony Bowens stated that there’s going to be a problem if Jarrett takes liberties with Caster on Wednesday, when Caster and Bowens will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Jarrett and Jay Lethal. More information is available here.
