Max Caster Claims He’s The Best Rapper In Professional Sports, Says Damian Lillard Is The Closest

Max Caster has never shied away from hyping himself up.

AEW star and one half of The Acclaimed, Max Caster recently appeared on The Sports Generals podcast to make the claim of being the best rapper in professional sports.

“Even before I was signed to AEW,” Caster said when asked about when he began rapping. “2019, right when I quit my job at Sirius, I was kind of aimless in wrestling, but I knew I had to put my feet to the fire and destroy any safety net that I had. I sat back and looked at the talents that I had and thought, ‘what could I do?’ I’m a wrestler and a rapper. I make rap music for fun, that’s my hobby, I’ve done song in wrestling prior to being Platinum Max when I was part of the group called The Shook Crew. We would do diss songs on people we were wrestling and a lot of those were really popular. I figured I could double down on that. There is no other wrestler, and frankly no other professional athlete, doing that. No professional athlete is a better rapper than me. There are rappers who are better rappers than me, 100%, but no pro athletes are better. Damian Lillard is the only one who is close. I’m being genuine about that. Shaq had a few good ones like ‘Kobe how’s my ass taste?'”

Caster explained how he first began rapping, which dates back many years to him recording his own freestyles on a cell phone in his basement.

“Long story short, I was in that position and I doubled down on my talents,” admitted Caster. “I said, ‘this is what I need to do’ and I created a video series called Freestyle Friday where every Friday, I would be in the basement with my cell phone and I would make a beat, rap over it, film it, and put it out. It caught on, week after week, people realized I could rap and the rest is history.”

Caster released his debut album ‘Critically Acclaimed: Vol. 1’ in May of 2021.

When it comes to the ring, Caster and Acclaimed teammate Anthony Bowens are currently the number one ranked tag team in AEW.
