Matt Riddle Says He Would Love To Face The New Day, Usos, Miz & Morrison, King Corbin

Although Matt Riddle is enjoying his time in NXT, he does have an eye on some of the top teams on SmackDown.

In an interview with Graham Mirmina of FanSided’s Daily DDT, Riddle spoke about who from WWE’s non-NXT brands would he like to face. Riddle then targeted a number of teams from SmackDown, mainly former champions such as The New Day, Miz & John Morrison and The Usos.

“I would really like to mix it up with other brands in WWE, like The New Day. Never worked against them, they seem like great guys and would be great competition. You got the Morrison and Miz connection. That’s a team from yesterday that was brought back, they’re doing great. You’ve got The Usos. There’s a long list of tag teams and you’ve got the put-together tag teams that are random but you have Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro on a team. That’s a pretty devastating team. I think there’s a lot of combinations and great teams to match up with. For me to pick one is hard. People always ask me to pick a team and I’m like “I can’t, it’s too hard,” Riddle said.

But he’s not just thinking about tag teams. Riddle even mentioned King Corbin, saying that even though there’s no beef between the two, Riddle still wants to teach Corbin some respect.

“I probably should teach that guy some respect and put some beats on them. It’s not like he’s ever beaten me up. He’s just always taken advantage of an opportunity of a situation and hats off to him, but at the end of the day, The Bro can’t stand for that. I got to do something,” Riddle said.

Of course, he might have to wait a while longer before he wrestle tag teams given that Pete Dunne is still in the United Kingdom and Timothy Thatcher, his latest partner, turned on him during their NXT Tag Team Championship defense against Imperium.
