Matt Makowski Wants To Keep Proving Himself At JCW, Be A Mainstay At GCW

Matt Makowski has only been wrestling since 2019, but his history in combat goes back to his MMA days over a decade ago.

Makowski is still proving himself in the world of wrestling, but he’s gotten some big opportunities, including wrestling for ROH before the company went on hiatus at the end of 2021.

Makowski has had a couple of appearances at GCW, including Bloodsport events, and he hopes to be involved more with Game Changer Wrestling moving forward.

“I do look at JCW as kind of the NXT of GCW. There is really no other way around that. With that being said, I would love to become more of a mainstay at GCW, one day. There is part of me that is like, ‘maybe I can be the draw at JCW.’ There are guys on the come up, but maybe there is somebody bigger that would sell tickets. They just had Tracy Williams, former Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion. Maybe, there’s some talk, he and I tag a little bit. Stuff like that. I really enjoy those JCW shows. The fans are great wrestling fans. There is always a good energy in the room. It’s a place I look forward to wrestling. GCW has a little different flavor. The deathmatch stuff is a little hardcore, but they book Jonathan Gresham, Zack Sabre Jr, guys like that. I just have to keep proving I can get it done at JCW and then maybe become…’get the call’ to GCW,” he said on The Spotlight with Jeremy Lambert & Stephen Jensen.

Jersey Championship Wrestling often runs events in conjunction with GCW. Makowski has faced the likes of Alex Coughlin, Billie Starkz, and Cole Radrick at JCW events.

Elsewhere during the interview, Makowski discussed his ROH plans before they went on hiatus. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
