Matt Hardy Uses “Delete” Pretty Liberally On WWE Raw
Matt Hardy has been very much "repaired" throughout his recent WWE run.
The formerly "broken" Matt Hardy has been kept from his previous character due to ongoing legal issues with Impact Wrestling regarding rights to the universe. On WWE's Raw, it may have been the first time Matt Hardy has liberally unleashed "delete" chants on WWE television.
Several of the mannerisms and terms around the "Broken" Matt Hardy character have been restricted, which has developed into a major point of contention between himself and his former employers. That didn't keep Hardy from screaming "delete" in the corner while using the signature hand gesture Monday night on WWE Raw following a loss to Bray Wyatt.
The issues between Impact and the Hardys have dragged Shane Helms, Reby Sky, Jeff Jarrett, Ed Nordholm and several others into the fray.
Hardy and his brother Jeff received cease and desist letters from Anthem Entertainment, parent company of TNA and now Impact Wrestling, earlier this year. Since then, the Hardys have found ways around the legal blocks without egregiously using the mannerisms. Of late, Jeff Hardy has been dealing with an injury while Matt struggles to find his footing as a singles competitor. Neither had been embracing their once-successful "broken" gimmick much on TV.
Perhaps a new "Broken" Matt Hardy could lead us to a new tour through his zoo. or create more fridge drama.
