Matt Hardy Says He Did Not Trademark “Twist Of Fate”
Matt Hardy has addressed WWE’s usage, or lack thereof, of the term “Twist of Fate” during Jeff Hardy’s return match.
On the March 13 episode of SmackDown, Jeff hit the move commonly referred to as the Twist of Fate, but on commentary, Michael Cole called it the “Twist of Fury.” This caused confusion among viewers who noticed the change in name and someone asked Matt on Twitter about it. Matt responded by saying Jeff and WWE are free to use the term “Twist of Fate” and said the change was on WWE’s end. This confirmed a Fightful report that Matt does not own the trademark of “Twist of Fate.”
I DID NOT. The @WWE & Jeff are completely free to use “Twist of Fate.” The change 100% came on their end. I wouldn’t ever do anything to hinder my brother. I’m thrilled to see him back on #WWE TV, looking healthy & happy. https://t.co/L0xp5QyjpU

Jeff had his first match in WWE in nearly a year on March 13 when he faced King Corbin, a match that Jeff had won. As for Matt, he is currently exploring free agency after his WWE contract expired back in early March.
