Matt Cardona Says His Heart Breaks For Steph De Lander But That Won’t Stop Him From Targeting PCO

Matt Cardona says his heart breaks for Steph De Lander, but that will not stop him from targeting her “husband” PCO.

Steph De Lander revealed during TNA Victory Road that she required neck surgery but pledged that she would not retire and had more to offer to the business. Before the unexpected news, Steph De Lander was “married” to PCO on TNA TV and struggled for her freedom from Matt Cardona. Cardona took advantage of the announcement. He pinned Rhino to win for himself and Steph De Lander in a tag team bout at the event, which immediately became secondary to De Lander’s announcement.

“I had no idea about Steph’s neck injury,” Cardona said in a digital exclusive following TNA Victory Road. “Surgery?! Like, what? You’re just going to spring that on me live out there? Steph, yeah, you’re my property. You signed the contract, but we’re friends. We’re family at this point. So my heart, it breaks for you knowing that your dream is gonna be paused, and I know you’ll be back, but while you’re gone, I just want you to know that… I’m going to destroy PCO. I’m going to take everything that he has. All those championships, they’re coming to me. I didn’t come to TNA to make friends and have a good time, though. I came to TNA for buzz, money, and gold, and I’m gonna get that whether you’re healthy or not, Steph.”

Now, Cardona has offered his thoughts on the matter, showing sincere concern for De Lander while keeping his game face on and making it clear that he was not done with PCO just because De Lander would be absent from television.
