Matt Cardona: If I Was In Charge Of WWE, I’d Bring Back The WBF And Make Dexter Lumis A Top Guy
Matt Cardona thinks Dexter Lumis should be the top star of the World Bodybuilding Federation.
The World Bodybuilding Federation (WBF) was a short-lived bodybuilding organization run by Vince McMahon in an effort to capitalize on the bodybuilding craze in the early 90s. Aside from the creation of ICOPRO, there’s not much that the WBF is remembered for in 2023.
Still, Matt Cardona says that if he was in charge of WWE he would revitalize the World Bodybuilding Federation and make WWE Superstar Dexter Lumis a top star in the bodybuilding organization because that dude is jacked.
“That guy is jacked, though. So, if I was booking I would put him on television,” Cardona told Sean Ross Sapp while appearing on a recent episode of Fightful’s The Hump. “If I was in charge of WWE, I’d bring back the WBF and I’d have Dexter as one of my top guys in the WBF. He has a hell of a physique.”
Matt Cardona does have a personal connection to the WBF as his father, a known Shake Weight enthusiast and fan of Johnny TV, was one of the original judges of the WBF competitions.
Elsewhere in the interview, Cardona again discussed what it would take to get him back in WWE. Learn more here.
As for Dexter Lumis, while he hasn’t been on WWE television recently he has been on Tacoma FD on TruTV, and on that show, his character actually has a voice. Learn more here.
Matt Cardona is not just busy being the God of independent wrestling, he’s also got his own action figure line, and the latest inclusion to those action figures is Big Rubber Guys, a lineup of toys inspired by the old LJN WWF Superstar action figures.
New toys are available at Major Pod Merch and Series 4 will ship in March 2024 with Macho Man Randy Savage and two Andre the Giant variants.
