Matt Cardona: If AEW Said, ‘Go Away, And We’ll Bring You Back To Wrestle Adam Copeland,’ I Would’ve
Matt Cardona jokes with RJ City that he would have gladly gone away and returned to face Adam Copeland if AEW offered him that exact match.
Matt Cardona had his dream match on the March 30 episode of AEW Collision when he faced Adam Copeland for the AEW TNT Title. This was Cardona’s return after a brief stint with the company in 2020.
RJ City joked about this return with Cardona during a recent episode of Hey! (EW), asking if the dream match was part of the deal when Cardona went away. Of course, Cardona that wasn’t the deal but he would have taken that deal if it was offered.
“No, but in retrospect, if they would have said that, hey, go away, and we’ll bring you back to wrestle Adam Copeland. I would have done it because it was my dream match.”
Cardona is now back in AEW/ROH and gearing up to challenge Chris Jericho for the Ring of Honor World Championship at ROH Final Battle.
