Matt Brannigan Reflects On Teaming With Warlord, Explaining The Purple Nurple Spot To Him

Matt Brannigan is always teaming with jacked dudes.

Before his unfortunate retirement from wrestling, Megabyte Ronnie & Matt Brannigan found a groove as Hog & Dog on the independent scene. With Ronnie retiring earlier this year, Brannigan has been teaming with various men on the independent scene.

At BLP National Slampoon’s Wrestling Vacation 2, Brannigan teamed with The Warlord.

“They put me in tag matches with people who are more jacked than me. Megabyte Ronnie is the most jacked dude in the world. Warlord is the second most jacked dude in the world. I have to team with these dudes who are 6’4” and jacked. Come on, man, I’m trying to look big here. You’re killing me,” Brannigan joked on The Spotlight with Jeremy Lambert & Stephen Jensen

Speaking about his team with The Warlord, Brannigan said, “The Warlord is so cool. I showed him the promo I did and I had to explain to him what Wordle was because I did a Wordle promo. He was like, ‘Okay, cool.’ Then, I did the follow up promo, ‘You and me play Wordle, and you say Flexy, but it will be the word.’ We filmed the promo and he couldn’t get it right. He kept saying, ‘The word I choose is Wordle.’ [laughs] It took like six takes. He was such a nice dude. I wasn’t sure what to expect and he was really cool. I had to tell him about my purple nurple spot and show him the choreography, the nurple circle, as I call it, when you’re grabbing the person next to you (in a purple nurple). It was great. One of my favorite wrestling things I’ve ever seen is when we’re all locked in the purple nurple chain and he needs to break it and get everyone to grab our nipples, he does the most 80s double axe handle, fake stupid double axe handle to break. I almost cried laughing in the ring. I loved it. That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen, I loved it. Lately, I’ve been doing the classic 80s double axe handle as an homage to Warlord for being a cool dude.”

Unfortunately, Brannigan & Warlord lost to Darius Latrell & Trevor Outlaw in tag team competition.

Elsewhere during the interview, Brannigan discussed teaming with Cole Radrick on ROH TV. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
