Match Ratings For WWE Smackdown 2/7/20 From Sean Ross Sapp

The Dirt Sheet

• Miz and Morrison are out and introduce themselves and I’m not sure what Miz says but they introduce a Once Upon a Time In Hollywood spoof.
• This is the right way to throw to a video. I really enjoyed this. It was funny.
• They should have had three time Black Belt Hall of Famer Bruce Prichard play the part of Bruce Lee in that spoof.
• New Day interrupt. Big E wasn’t actually watching the trailer, he was watching BET Uncut.
• Ziggler & Roode come out to attack, but then the Usos make the save before the commercial.

Usos defeated Roode & Ziggler

• Commentary mentions the Usos needed to take time to get their minds right.
• Roode and Ziggler cut off the ring and work over Jey Uso.
• I’m glad WWE has kept Roode & Ziggler together, because they’re best served as a team, Roode is better as a tag guy, and they can work singles when necessary.
• Roode & Ziggler could be every bit as good as Revival, I just don’t see the aggression there.
• Usos pick up a pretty standard victory.

Elias defeated Cesaro (w/ Sami Zayn)
5.25/10

• It’s weird seeing Elias actually wrestle at this point.
• Some good back and forth work here. Cesaro is great, and Elias is underrated.
• Elias ends up picking up a win with a Flying Elbow Drop.
• This is a short term program, but sometimes you need them to fill the gaps. They could do a lot worse. Cesaro also had a nice superplex in there.

King Corbin

• King Corbin is livid about the video being shown about him eating dog food. He finds a person in the production truck and throws them down some stairs and laugh before agents stop him.
• King Corbin comes out and trashes the crowd and demands one more match with Roman Reigns.
• Baron Corbin pours beer on someone.
• Roman Reigns runs off Corbin.
• This feud will never end. Roman Reigns says they’ll do one more match, in a steel cage.

Goldberg

• I’d be a little pissy if I bought a ticket to see Bill Goldberg at Smackdown and he was on satellite.
• Goldberg indicates that he wants a WWE Title match against Bray Wyatt at Super Showdown.
• Re-match clause is dead, Bill.
• Firefly Funhouse interrupts. He makes light of Goldberg’s challenge.
• Goldberg and Bray are on for SAUDI.

Daniel Bryan defeated Heath Slater
SQUASH

• Backstage Heath Slater is checking on Daniel Bryan and pisses him off in doing so. Bryan challenges Heath.
• Daniel Bryan dominates Heath Slater. This is a one sided ass beating. It should be, though.
• Smackdown could stand to have more showcase squash matches. I think Raw maybe has too many, and Smackdown doesn’t have enough.

Braun Crushed

• Braun comes out to enjoy his title victory. He’s interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura.
• Sami Zayn says a rematch won’t happen tonight, and they have reinforcements.
• The Revival attack, but Braun takes them out. Eventually the numbers overwhelm him and they get beaten up.

Backstage Crappenings

• Otis is shown training for his date with Mandy. He’s working on his manners and outfit.

Sheamus defeated Apollo Crews
SQUASH

• Apollo gets some offense and gets Brogue Kicked.
• Apollo Crews needs to get out.
• Chad Gable gets laid out too. Lol.

Top Contender Match
Carmella defeated Naomi, Alexa Bliss & Dana Brooke
5.75/10

• Bayley is super over in San Jose. She gets big cheers when she sends Naomi into the stairs.
• Even though Dana Brooke hasn’t been getting a lot of wins, I’m glad to see her getting more opportunity.
• All the women hit their signature spots, Dana impressively doing a Batista Bomb.
• Naomi’s split legged moonsault hit great. So does a wheelbarrow Stunner.
• Naomi is featured heavily, and gets her knees up on a Twisted Bliss.
• Naomi lands a Rearview, but that finisher sucks so bad.
• Carmella capitalizes and wins with a couple of superkicks. Naomi’s shoulder was not down. 
• Bayley attacks right after the match.
