Master Wato Wins NJPW Best Of Super Junior 30
Master Wato rises to the top.
Master Wato won the NJPW Best of Super Junior 30 tournament, defeating Titan in the finals. Wato scored the win with Recientemente II (modified gutwrench driver) in a bout that lasted just under 25 minutes.
This marks the first time Wato has won the Best of Super Juniors tournament.
Wato was the number two seed in the B Block during round robin action, finishing with a 7-2 record and 14 points. He defeated A Block top seed “Speedball” Mike Bailey in the semi-finals.
With this tournament victory, Wato will receive a shot at Hiromu Takahashi and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
