Mark Henry: There Could Be 200 Million People Watching WrestleMania 36

Mark Henry believes the world will come together and watch WrestleMania 36 during the coronavirus pandemic.

With most sheltered in place, citizens have turned to streaming platforms to help get them through these trying times. And with no live sports, wrestling has been the one constant over the past month. WrestleMania 36 takes place on Saturday and Sunday and given the unfortunate circumstances, Mark Henry thinks more people than ever will be tuning in.

“I’ve heard since this started, ‘WrestleMania is gonna take a big hit.’ I don’t know. I think that enough people will tune in to watch and be apart of something that normally would not have. D-Nice, the rapper, did seven hours of live social distancing party. Oprah, Jay-Z, Diddy were on there. I went on. I just wanted to be apart of it because it was a historical moment. This is what we’re talking about, historical moments. I think the WWE is going to do the same thing, just on bigger level. He had 90,000 people on a little space on their phone watching him DJ. What can WrestleMania do? Two days? Live streaming and watching the Network, there could be 200 million people watching,” he told TMZ.

Ratings and viewership numbers have been down across the board for wrestling since the pandemic, but WrestleMania 36 is more available than ever with fans being able to watch through WWE Network, FITE TV, Fox Digital, and more.

Fightful will have live coverage of WrestleMania 36 beginning on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET.
