On the August 5 episode of AEW Rampage, Madison Rayne made her AEW in-ring debut when she faced “interim Baddie” Leila Grey. Using her experience advantage, Rayne picked up the victory. After the match, Cargill came to the stage and noted that good help was hard to find.

She stated that she should have handled Rayne herself, so she told the AEW newcomer to answer her open challenge for the August 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, which will be the Quake by the Lake special

Cargill initially confronted Rayne while she was on commentary during the August 4 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation, and this showdown set up the veteran’s match with Grey.
