The Machine Gun Era Begins In IMPACT, ROH Champions Pick Up Big Wins | IMPACT x ROH Recap

Here is your fight size update following IMPACT and ROH Wrestling on Thursday, June 15, 2023. 

Below are highlights from both Thursday night wrestling shows.

IMPACT Wrestling  

– Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, hot off their big wins at Against All Odds, kicked off the Machine Gun era on June 15.

– An uncommon tag team grudge match has been added to the card of IMPACT Slammiversary 2023 following the latest edition of IMPACT on AXS TV. For the first time, Bully Ray and Steve Maclin will face the Canadian duo of PCO and Scott D’Amore.

– Rich Swann picked up a pinfall victory over Moose on June 15. 

– Deaner and Angels dispute which of them is to blame for The Design’s defeat against oVe at Against All Odds. Kon calms the situation down and encourages them to show the others in the locker room that IMPACT is The Design’s territory.

– Steve Maclin is enraged about needing a rematch after losing the IMPACT World Championship to Alex Shelly at IMPACT Against Odds. IMPACT has confirmed that the rematch will take place on Friday, June 30, in Australia, when Alex Shelly defends his global championship against Maclin. Deonna Purrazzo will defend her title against Gisele Shaw on July 1 in Australia. 

– Brian Myers claims he couldn’t lead The Good Hands to victory against IMPACT World Tag Team Champions ABC. Myers approaches Moose and believes they have what it takes to complete the job at hand.

– Bhupinder Gujjar discussed his forthcoming episode of Diary, which will air next Thursday and will detail his journey from India to pro wrestling prominence. A jealous Dirty Dango interrupts, believing a documentary on him should be made instead.

– Decay’s Black Taurus and Crazzy Steve were beaten by Ace Austin and Chris Bey. ABC won by pinning Steve with a 1-2-Sweet.

– Heath threatens the IMPACT roster not to overlook him and promises Wake Up Calls for all.

– Nick Aldis turned heel tonight ahead of IMPACT Slammiversary. Learn more here.

Ring of Honor 

– The Kingdom is demanding Tag Title shots in an ROH digital exclusive.

– Athena turned back yet another challenger in another Proving Ground Match. This time, she defeated Trish Adora. Next week, she faces Kiera Hogan in a Chicago Street Fight.

– Tony Nese and Ari Daivari held a live fitness showcase in the ring because Nese thought the audience was full of “fat pieces of trash.”

– Backstage, the WorkHorsemen were interviewed. JD Drake and Anthony Henry mentioned FTR, Dax Hardwood, and Cash Wheeler. Instead, Henry promised to give FTR’s receipt to Mark Briscoe later that night. Henry fell short.

– Backstage, the Dark Order was interviewed. They called out Stu Grayson and The Righteous. Grayson was asked by Evil Uno if The Righteous would bleed for him.

– Miranda Alize, Skye Blue, Mark Briscoe, Diamante, and Nick Comoroto all picked up wins on ROH. Check out our latest feature on Comoroto here.

– Daniel Garcia defeated The DKC in a Pure Rules match.

– Samoa Joe successfully defended his Ring of Honor TV Title against Matt Sydal

– The Embassy’s Prince Nana, Brian Cage, Kaun, and Toa Linoa were interviewed and chastised ROH Management for only providing them with poor opponents. They asked that more significant challenge be lined up for them.
