Mace Says Vince McMahon Yelled At Him To Stop Explaining The Finish Of The Fiend vs Seth Rollins At HIAC 2019

Mace looks back on the most memorable moment of his short WWE commentary career.

Mace looks back on the most memorable moment of his short stint as a member of the WWE RAW announce team back in 2019.

Mace’s run as part of the announce team was short lived, with it only lasting from September to November of 2019 before he was taken out of action by Brock Lesnar on the November 4th edtion of the program that year.

His run on commentary overlapped with one of WWE’s biggest misses in recent years, as Mace was on the call for Hell In A Cell 2019 on October 6th. The main event of this show was a Universal title bout insid ethe cell featuring Seth Rollins defending his championship against Bray Wyatt. The match was largely viewed as a disaster, with it called off by the referee after Rollins buried The Fiend in debris, following it up with a sledgehammer shot.

While answering questions in a Reddit Q & A, Mace was asked what his favorite match of his commentary career was. Mace noted that the most memorable match he called was the Hell In A Cell match between The Fiend and Seth.

“Bray and Seth HIAC was certainly the most memorable. I remember Vince yelling at me to stop trying to explain the finish and then the crowd threw trash at us as we left lmaooo”

Mace was released by WWE earlier this year as part of the first round of talent cuts following the TKO Group merger.

Elsewhere in the Q & A, Mace looked back on almost working with Brock Lesnar. You can read more here.
