Low Ki Says One Of The Main Reasons He Returned To MLW Was Because Of Court Bauer’s Vision For Wrestling

Low Ki goes over a plethora of topics during this interview including why he returned to MLW.

This upcoming Friday inside the ‘Scottish Rite Temple’ in Miami, Florida for Major League Wrestling’s ”Zero Hour’ show, the current MLW World Heavyweight Champion Low Ki will defend his title against former WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Konnan. At the age of 54-years old, Konnan will have his first singles match since 2012 and it will be for a World Title in his backyard of Miami.

Major League Wrestling has resurfaced as one of the top promotions on the independent scene. The likes of Davey Boy Smith Jr., MJF, Pentagon Jr., Fenix and many others represent the MLW family. The World Champion of MLW Low Ki recently did an interview with ‘The B Plus’ after competing in Australia at ‘New Horizons Professional Wrestling’s’ ‘Final Chapter IX’ show. Low Ki was asked what made him return to MLW and he responded with the following:

“A big part of me returning to MLW was because Court had a vision that aligned with mine and that is to return respect to the athletes and to the sport.” He said. “Before there was ‘sports entertainment’, the men needed to understand how to wrestle and how to fight because the era which that idea developed is not this one. It developed in a harsher environment and an older area. The attitude was different but there was more of a format and a structure on wrestlers development. You had to go to school, you had to graduate from school. Then you had to work your way on to a card, then off of that you had to be an apprentice to advance further into your professional career. So there was a lot of structure in the past that is no longer used but with MLW and with Court Bauer we are returning things back to the sport and structure of professional wrestling”.

Low Ki also gave a detailed response as to how he has been able to persevere in the wrestling business despite the hills that have to be climbed to find success. To check out the full interview, click here.
