Liv Morgan: The First Iteration Of The Riott Squad Was Disbanded Before We Were Ready

Liv Morgan is excited for the second chance she has with The Riott Squad.

This weekend, WWE Network will debut a new episode of Chronicle featuring Liv Morgan. Morgan got her start in WWE on the road to the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble in 2018 when she debuted alongside Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan in the Riott Squad.

The group would have a strong showing in their first year including an appearance in the Elimination Chamber match to crown the first WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions before being split in the superstar shake-up following WrestleMania 35.

Speaking with the Asbury Park Press, Liv Morgan would say that she felt the first iteration of the group was split long before they were ready and she felt like they were just beginning to hit their stride as a faction.

“The first time The Riott Squad was around I feel like we disbanded before we were ready. We were just hitting our stride and then it was taken away,” she said. “So to have the opportunity again, Ruby and I kind of feel like we have a chance to rewrite history and to create whatever we want.

“We can go at it this time around doing everything that we wished we could have the first time. We’re not taking it lightly at all. We know this might be the last time, and so we are completely focused and have our sights set on becoming the next WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and we just know we have to make the most of it.”

Liv Morgan would have a brief run as a singles competitor earlier this year when she interrupted the wedding of Lana and Bobby Lashley to reveal that she and Lana were lovers before that rivalry was quickly disbanded and she once again formed a team with Ruby.

Sarah Logan, the third member of the faction, was released by WWE on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 and is currently expecting her first child with WWE Superstar Erik of the Viking Raiders.
