Lio Rush On Scott D’Amore’s TNA Exit: He Took A Chance On Me, I Have The Highest Respect For Scott

Lio Rush comments on Scott D’Amore’s departure from TNA Wrestling and his experience working with D’Amore.

Scott D’Amore was recently terminated from his position as president of TNA Wrestling. In the wake of his departure, several wrestlers who have worked with Scott have opened up about how he’s helped their careers.

Lio Rush is the latest to speak about his experience working with Scott D’Amore. During a recent interview with Irish Wrestling & Entertainment, Rush noted that he would always have a great deal of respect for D’Amore because D’Amore was willing to take a chance on him and believed in his abilities.

“Yeah, my memories of working with Scott, I’ll never forget. I walked through the Globe, which is located in Los Angeles, California, and there was an IMPACT/New Japan joint show. My first time working for IMPACT, I knew that I wanted to make a good impression. I knew that I wanted to eventually, hopefully, work for IMPACT in the future as a mainstay. Scott pulled me aside after my match and said, ‘Man, like, you’re really good’ and he expressed that he heard stories about me in the past and he doesn’t really judge people based off the stories. He bases people off of personal interaction. We really got along and he really believed in me. He believed in my talents. He believed in what I could do and what I was capable of. He took a chance on me too. So I always have the highest respect for Scott.”

TNA Wrestling’s stars recently sent a letter to Anthem Sports and Entertainment expressing their desire to have someone who knows the world of professional wrestling in charge of the day-to-day operations of the promotion. Learn more about that here

Moose, current TNA Wrestling World Champion, recently opened up about D’Amore’s departure from TNA during an interview with Jeremy Lambert and Joel Pearl on Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds. Read his comments here
