“Legit” Leyla Hirsch returned to AEW programming on the April 5 episode of AEW Rampage. She noted that she had been competing in ROH for te past year, and she had compiled one of the most impressive records on the roster. Hirsch noted that she had fallen short of her own goals, so she was back in AEW to remind herself why she was “legit” so she could face the best. Hirsch then challenged Julia Hart to defend the TBS Championship against her on the April 12 episode of AEW Rampage.

Hirsch last wrestled on AEW programming on the April 4, 2022 episode of AEW Dark.
Later in the show, Julia Hart accepted the challenge, so the match was set for the April 12 episode of AEW Rampage.
