Lana Reflecting On One Of Her Most Painful Bumps: “Zelina Vega Used The Codebreaker Knee On Me And I Started Bleeding”

Lana’s most painful bump.

“The Ravishing Russian” Lana and former two-time WWE United States Champion Rusev recently wrapped up a feud with Zelina Vega and Andrade “Cien” Almas. The two tandems were at odds with one another for a great portion of the month of August; competing in inter-gender tag team matches and one-on-one matches on both SmackDown Live and on PPV’s

The next moment that Lana is looking forward to being a part of is WWE’s first-ever all women’s PPV ‘Evolution’ on October 28th. Last year Lana had her first-ever televised singles match on SmackDown Live and has since been a regular in the ring on the blue-brand exclusive show. With a full year under her belt as a singles performer, Lana revealed the most painful maneuver that she’s ever taken while speaking to ‘Newsweek’.

“When you’re out there doing things, your adrenaline is rushing so much. But getting kicked in the face is never fun. There have been a lot of different painful things, but when you’re kicked in the face or kneed in the face, it’s not the most pleasant thing.” She continued, “Zelina used the Codebreaker knee on me and I started bleeding. I thought I broke my nose or busted my teeth. Then she kneed me to the face again. It was definitely not by any means pleasant, and I’m really glad when I came backstage that I was alive still. It’s a contact sport, it’s very physical and intense. When you walk out there, you have to know anything can happen and to keep your hands up.”

Rusev has moved on from the feud with Andrade “Cien” Almas and Zelina Vega as well as exemplified by him and Aiden English officially being announced for next week’s Triple-Threat tag team match featuring SAnitY and The Usos. The winner of that match will square off against Sheamus and Cesaro for the opportunity to go on to ‘Hell In A Cell’ and compete for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships
