Kurt Angle Thought Cedric Alexander’s Career Was Over When He Didn’t Listen To Vince McMahon
Though Cedric Alexander has been a featured player on WWE Raw since 2019, things haven’t always been easy for the Hurt Business member.
Alexander was locked into a feud with AJ Styles over the United States Title in September 2019 when a report from The Wrestling Observer stated Alexander was being buried in the feud. Alexander told talkSPORT in November 2019 that he was annoyed at the report and losing to Styles wasn’t a burial.
Alexander was consistently on television in 2020, teaming with Ricochet but rarely having his hand raised at the end of the night until joining The Hurt Business in September 2020.
Speaking on the Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle said at some point, Alexander was scolded for not listening to Vince McMahon.
“He got in a little trouble last year [2019]. He didn’t do something Vince wanted him to do. If you don’t listen to your boss, things can get a little depressing for you. He didn’t listen one night and they scolded him for a good half-year before they started using him again, and rightfully so. He should’ve listened. That is his job, to listen to Vince and do what he tells you to do. He didn’t do that. I thought, ‘Wow, this kid’s career is over’ when that happened. Vince actually gave him another chance,” said Angle.
Alexander is finding much more success today as he is one-half of the Raw Tag Team Champions alongside Shelton Benjamin.
