Kurt Angle Thanks Fans For Helping Find His Abducted Niece
On the night of Jan. 16, an Amber Alert was issued in Pennsylvania for the abduction of 16-year-old Marjani Aquil, the niece of WWE superstar Kurt Angle.
The Amber Alert was canceled early Thursday morning after Aquil was found in her home. Allegheny County Police say the suspect in Aquil’s abduction, Jermaine Laquay Rodgers, was hiding in the cellar of the home. A standoff lasted a little more than two hours before a police SWAT team entered the home and took Rodgers into custody.
Penn Hills Police Chief Howard Burton said Rodgers broke into Aquil’s home on Wednesday night, assaulted her and forced her into a red sedan. According to police, this is the second time in a year that Rodgers abducted Aquil.
Kurt Angle posted a message on Facebook, thanking fans for their support and help in locating his niece.
“My niece has been found. Just wanted to say thank you to all those who have prayed and have shared posts to help locate her. Thank you to the Pittsburgh Police for your persistence in finding my niece. My family is truly appreciative. Love you all.
Godbless – K”
