Kurt Angle Says Gable Steveson Will Be A Big Star In Either WWE Or MMA

Kurt Angle weighs in on the potential of NCAA star Gable Steveson.

Recently, Gable Steveson has strongly hinted at a potential future in WWE. Steveson has even trained with Brock Lesnar in recent months.

When most think of success stories as it pertains to athletes transitioning from amateur wrestling to professional wrestling, Kurt Angle is often the name that comes to mind.

Angle was of course a high-level collegiate athlete and won an Olympic gold medal in 1996 before transitioning to WWE in 1999 and spending nearly 20 years in the professional wrestling space.

Speaking on the first-ever Q&A edition of his podcast, Kurt Angle commented on Gable Steveson’s potential as a professional wrestler or MMA fighter. Kurt Angle would say that should Steveson take to the business in the same way that Brock Lesnar did, he is definitely going to be the big star that he proclaimed he would be on Twitter.

“I think he’s going to be a big star. Look at his look. If he adapts to pro wrestling and picks it up like Brock Lesnar, he is going to be exactly like Brock Lesnar, so I think he needs to take the chance. Whether he goes to MMA or WWE, one or the other, but he’s got to do one of them. I think that he is a future star regardless of what he does. He’s got a great look to him, great athlete.”

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp recently spoke to Gable Steveson about his aspirations for either MMA or WWE. You can check out the full interview embedded above.
