Kurt Angle Released By WWE
WWE released multiple talents on Thursday, but perhaps no name was bigger than that of Kurt Angle.
Angle made his in-ring debut for WWE at Survivor Series 1999 and was WWE Champion less than a year later. Angle would also win the European, Intercontinental, Tag Team, WCW United States, and Hardcore Titles during his time in WWE. He also won the 2000 King of the Ring and, before WWE, won a gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck. Angle is one of the most decorated superstars in WWE history and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.
Angle left WWE in 2006 before returning in 2017 for his Hall of Fame induction and taking an on-screen role as the Raw General Manager.
Angle wrestled his last match at WrestleMania 35, losing to Baron Corbin. He then took on a backstage role in WWE.
I wanted 2 say thank you to the WWE for the time I spent there.I made many new friends and had the opportunity to work with so many talented people. To the Superstars, continue to entertain the WWE Universe as well as you possibly can. They’re the best fans in the world. #itstrue
