Kurt Angle Recalls John Cena And Roman Reigns’ War Of Words, Comments On Mustafa Ali, More

Kurt Angle’s latest Q&A.

Tonight is WWE’s TLC pay-per-view which will emanate from the SAP Center in San Jose, California and on top of all the stories that will come out of tonight’s show, tomorrow night will follow suit as it was announced yesterday that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is scheduled to appear on RAW in Sacramento and it was reported by PWInsider that WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle will be backstage at the tapings as well.

Angle recently hosted his weekly Q&A session on Facebook and answered a plethora of questions that were presented to him. One of the questions Angle was asked had to do with was there ever a time that Angle got frustrated at the person he was doing a promo with because the other person went too far and Angle replied that it has never happened to him personally but he did recall John Cena and Roman Reigns’ war of words on the build up to their match at the 2017 ‘No Mercy’ pay-per-view.

“Not me personally but Roman and Cena promo last year on Raw was pretty crazy. I enjoyed it very much because I was 3 feet away. Good stuff!” Angle noted.

This past Tuesday on SmackDown Live, 205 Live star Mustafa Ali went one-on-one with the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. Their confrontation and match garnered comparisons to Angle and John Cena’s first meetup when Cena was trying to make a name for himself on the main roster. Kurt had the following to say about the match and the moment:

“I believe it had the same feel. The champ (Bryan) gave the new kid (or younger kid) a chance and the new kid stuck with him the entire match. Nothing more exciting than to see a heel champ lose (or almost lose) to the young buck. Great story telling. Both matches had that.”

The Olympic Goldmedalist has had many memorable matches but Kurt was asked about a match that he is not so fond of and recalled a bout he had in Korea that he wishes he could remove from his wrestling resume’.

“I once had a triple threat match in Korea that was pretty bad. I couldn’t understand either one of my opponents. 1 was from Korea. The other was from Japan. It was baaaaaaad. That’s probably the only bad match I’ve ever had. You remember the bad ones. LOL.” Angle recalled.
