KOPW Stipulation Includes A Round Decided By A Lemon Eating Contest At NJPW Wrestling Dontaku
KOPW Stipulation set for NJPW Wrestling Dontaku.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Great-O-Khan will defend his KOPW Championship against Yuya Uemura in a Rural Revitalization match at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku at April 27. The bout was picked by O-Khan and voted on by the fans.
A Rural Revitalization bout is a two-out-of-three falls match that will see the two men battle in a Mazda tyre carrying contest, a lemon eating contest, and a tables match.
Saturday April 27 sees the Road to Dontaku hit Hiroshima Sun Plaza Hall, with the semi main event seeing Great-O-Khan put the KOPW 2024 title on the line against Yuya Uemura. With O-Khan selecting a Rural Revitalization Match, and Uemura wanting Catch rules, 17,459 fans voted for their choice of stipulation, with the results as follows:
Great-O-Khan: Rural Revitalization in Hiroshima Match- 10,561 votes (60.5%)
Yuya Uemura: Catch Rules, 2/3 Falls Match- 6898 votes (39.5%)
The match will officially be a Rural Revitalization in Hiroshima bout. The match will be contested in a two out of three rounds format:
Round 1: Mazda tyre carrying contest (Pariticipants must carry four Mazda tyres from the stage area to the ring, fastest wins)
Round 2: Hiroshima lemon eating contest (whomever can eat an entire Hiroshima lemon fastest wins)
Round 3: Table match (drive an opponent through a table to win)
