KOPW 2022 Four-Way Bout Set For NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 Night Two

A new King of Pro Wrestling provisional champion will be crowned at night two of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16.

During the pre-show of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16 night one, NJPW held its annual Ranbo with the final four competitors set to meet in a four-way bout at night two to become the KOPW 2022 Provisional Champion.

Chase Owens, Toru Yano, Minoru Suzuki, and CIMA were the final four men in the contest and will head to night two to battle for the trophy.

The Ranbo featured a surprise appearance by Tatsumi Fujinami, who remains active at the age of 68.

Yano is the reigning two-time King of Pro Wrestling, having held the provisional trophy at the end of 2020 and 2021. The KOPW provisional trophy is defended throughout the year in a match where the competitors pick the stipulation and fans vote on which match they would like to see. The person who holds the trophy at the end of the year is the official NJPW King of Pro Wrestling.
