Konosuke Takeshita Wants To Make His Living Wrestling In The US

Konosuke Takeshita wants to keep wrestling in America.

Takeshita spent the majority of 2022 in the United States, regularly appearing on AEW television and wrestling around the country for various Independent promotions.

Speaking to Eric Novak of Wrestling Republic on the All Real Wrestling Podcast in an interview conducted ahead of Starrcast V, Takeshita (via his translator, AEW’s Michael Nakazawa) says his goal wasn’t necessarily an excursion as he wants to continue to wrestle in the US.

“He didn’t mean to do an excursion. His goal is to move here and make his living by wrestling here. This is not an excursion. He might have to go back to Japan eventually, but he didn’t mean it. This is not an excursion for him. He tried to come here, move here, make a living on his own by wrestling. That’s why he chose AEW,” said Nakazawa

Nakazawa also noted that Takeshita wanted to come to the US to prove himself.

Takeshita returned to Japan for DDT Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Peter Pan on August 20.

“I hope to return to the US, ASAP. Maybe October or November. I hope so. I have to talk with DDT,” said Takeshita. He noted that he will keep his contract with DDT Pro Wrestling and needs to talk with DDT about a potential return.

Takeshita previously said that he was not interested in WWE. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
