Kofi Kingston On SmackDown Potentially Moving To 3 Hours: The More Wrestling, The Better
Kofi Kingston wouldn’t mind seeing SmackDown move to three hours.
While nothing has been confirmed, rumors of SmackDown moving to three hours have popped up ever since WWE signed a deal with FOX to move the brand to the network in October. Speaking to Vicente Beltrán, WWE Champion Kofi Kingston weighed in on the possibility of SmackDown moving to three hours.
“I have not heard that rumor (of SmackDown move to three hours). To me, the more wrestling on TV, the better. Because more people will get the opportunity to be on TV. There’s a lot of talent on our roster that the world should see,” said Kofi. “205 Live is one of the best kept secrets in WWE right now. You’re finally getting to see guys like Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander and Ali, who have been doing amazing things on 205 Live. Now they are on the main roster and showing what they can do. If we were to get another hour, I don’t if that’s going to happen or not, but it would definitely provide an opportunity for guys that deserve to be on TV.”
SmackDown officially moves to FOX on Oct. 4 and as of now, the show will remain at two hours.
As WWE Champion, Kingston is one of the faces of the blue brand. He will defend his WWE Title against Kevin Owens at Money in the Bank on May 19.
