Kofi Kingston: I Will Offer Advice If Asked, But Won’t Force It On Anyone

Kofi Kingston is an elder statesman in WWE and has done just about everything there is to do in the company, bringing a perspective that very few backstage can offer.

Being a veteran in the locker room, Kingston welcomes anyone who seeks advice from him.

“You can’t make me old, I just am old,” Kingston joked in an interview with Jon Chuckery“It is what it is, I’m happy to have made it this far, a lot of people don’t make it this far and I feel like I’m 2022 and I still wear a lot of bright colors. The other day I wore a Spongebob Squarepants outfit. I don’t know if I’m four or I’m 40. It’s one, the other, or somewhere in-between. As far as the role backstage, I’ve always been one to offer advice if people are looking for it. I’ve been around and have gotten a lot of experience, but we have a lot of people who are incredibly talented. I just try to bring whatever I can to the table in terms of general guidance, if that is asked of me. When I was younger, there were a lot of people who were older who would force their advice on people, regardless if you asked for it or not. I do not want to do that. I don’t want to be that guy. I’m always an open book for anybody who has any kind of questions, I try to answer them.”

Kingston and his New Day running mate Xavier Woods are going for another reign with the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships on Saturday at WWE Day 1 when they face The Usos.
