Kofi Kingston Defeats Bobby Lashley In Non-Title Match On 5/17 WWE Raw
Kofi Kingston has defeated both Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton on the same night.
Kofi Kingston has been on WWE television for 13 years and in that time, he has garnered a tremendous following with the WWE Universe. that very following took him to the WWE title in a tremendous WrestleMania moment back in 2019.
Kofi would hold the WWE championship for six months before losing it to Brock Lesnar in less than 10 seconds during the premiere of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX. Since then, Kofi has not received another one-on-one Championship opportunity but that may all change after his victory over Bobby Lashley during Bobby Lashley’s open challenge on the May 17 episode of Monday Night Raw.
Kofi Kingston had already wrestled earlier in the night, defeating his old rival, Randy Orton in a highly physical match but decided to answer the open challenge of the WWE Championship. Initially, it was believed that the match would be for the WWE championship but MVP quickly announced that that was not the case. Ultimately, Kofi was able to prevail and become the second person to pin Bobby Lashley in this calendar year.
