Kofi Kingston: Alex Shelley And Chris Sabin Are Icons. We’ve Got To Have That Banger
Kofi Kingston comments on WWE signing Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, the Motor City Machine Guns.
Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E became synonymous with tag team wrestling in WWE over the last decade. However, the Motor City Machine Guns have been redefining tag team wrestling for the better part of the last two decades. Now, Shelley and Sabin have finally joined WWE and they are already the current WWE Tag Team Champions, having defeated Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.
Kofi Kingston recently spoke on the Battleground Podcast about how special it is for him to be one step closer to sharing the squared circle with Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, two names that previously seemed would never make it to WWE.
“It’s amazing, man. I feel like Shelley and Sabin are icons, and the tag team aura of WWE like, it’s crazy that they are here now, and they’re champions. Of course, they’re champions, because that’s how good they are. That’s how talented they are. Yeah, we are looking forward to that opportunity. For sure. We’ve got to figure out a way to either get to SmackDown or get them to Raw, and have that banger that has been a fantasy booking match that we never, ever thought was going to be possible. But here we are.”
Kofi Kingston also included names like Jacob Fatu, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayna as names he once thought would never be in WWE and said he feels fortunate to be part of such a prosperous time in the company.
